Jessie Smith is an up and coming, young voice in experimental film coming out of Seattle, Washington. Though predominately a Director, Smith also often works as Art Director, Editor, Performer, and Costume Designer. In addition to her film work, Smith is a Choreographer and Dancer. She produces both her modern dance and film works under the company Dead Bird Movement.Smith's films spring from a basis in movement and explore how motion, sensation, and aesthetics can carry the archs of nonlinear, abstract storylines. Her films often feature elegant dance sequences within harsh industrial settings."Left and Leaving" is Smith’s fourth short film. |
